GRATITUDE… tag for Linda Manley’s post
Been sober over 30yrs and lost my spouse of 52 yrs last yr about this time….and stumbled on Bob Earl’s speaker on Codependency…WOW.. I listened to him early on and he TRULY helped me even if he still had stuff to work on..don’t we ALL?? THANKS for this site.
Now am trying to figure out how to live w/o my hubby and first thing I did was get myself back to my MTG’s and those people who help me see who I am really…
People need to listen to him it helps to see the problem and a solution.
When in an AA Conference in Surrey I listened to Bob E , wow I felt like a Bomb went off in me. I started going to ACOA after that I went to Coda, for 2 years. Thought I was great getting into recovery. However I met a lady there who also was codependent. We had a wonderful life ,BUT I stopped going to meetings and soon forgot who and what I was and we became toxic to each other ,I trier making her happy but it meant giving up my person and I slipped back into codependency. I have a built in forget er ,when I stop being reminded of who and what I am my forget er kicks in. That’s over 20 years ago now I am 2 years sober separated 2 and a half years memories are coming to me of how sick I was. I have a long way to go but I am here now. Thank you Bob E.
