Charlie “C.J.” Brockwell probably got sober much, much later than 1935. He was certainly NOT AA #6 or a “pioneer” and most of his ‘recollection’ is pure bunkum. The “facts” here are fiction, folks.
AA amateur historians & archivists long ago rejected this “history” as pure fabulism, just like Jim Houck’s nonsense.
Just another of the AA history frauds, sadly.
