Great Stuff! Lovely you got something from it too… this is how it works! :)))))
Bob O is a lovely, gentle speaker, sober since 1968. He speaks of his denial upon entering AA and how he still goes thru the steps periodically, no matter the length of sobriety, he still returns to Step 1 to establish the fact of alcoholism. He speaks of the decisions we make as children, regarding self-preservation, no longer serve us as adults. He gives hope that by the time we reach Step 7 we know we are getting well. Bob helped me today when he talked about amends to his father. Funny how this works… each Step I’ve taken in this program I’ve found something totally relevant to my journey in one of these speaker tapes. Amazing! Bob also says… If you want what I have – do what I did – trust in God – clean house – work with others. In that way… we can come back to the mainstream of humanity. Beautiful. Thank you Bob, I’m a thankful, grateful alcoholic today with trust, hope and faith 🙂

Wow… That is precisely the work I’m beginning to do (seeking outside help for it). My therapist calls them “Brilliant Strategies” which they were for a kid who was trying to make sense of his experience in the alcoholic household. But now, while they need to be honored and recognized for the important purpose they served as a kid, they no longer serve me, and healthier strategies are available to learn and practice developing.
Awesome that it was referring to in an AA speaker tape, and that you mentioned it in your tape summary – Thank You!!
